Her Mighty Wrath
by Laurie Beth
Age Group: Adult
Her compassion knows no bounds
but justice is swift for those who offend.
Three times She will bless if you live the rede
but woe to those who cause harm.
A fierce Mother protecting her own,
beautiful and terrible in Her Mighty power-
a thunderous storm with lightening bright,
a raging sea swallowing all in it's path,
an immense mountain spitting fiery rage,
earth-shattering convulsions shaking the land.
She is the Mother of all things,
She is the reason behind the lies:
a woman cannot be mighty,
She cannot create all.
So they burn and pillage,
they rape and oppress.
They beat at her name
until god remains.
So She will continue to shake the earth,
She will pour out Her fire,
She will crash Her seas and
rage storms in Her skies,
until She is restored in the eyes of Her children,
until we walk in harmony with the world around,
until Lord and Lady rule as one..........
only then will we all know peace.

Author's Notes: Had to sit through a very long confirmation service tonight where I was reminded, once again, how inferior women are (all in the most politically-correct terms, of course) and how poor Adam was tricked into eating the apple in Eden because of that crafty Eve. Goddess forbid Adam should take responsibility for his own actions. Got to love the catholic church.....at least they give me fuel for my creative fire.
