I Wait

I Wait…
Summer:
It had been a long time since I last saw you.
I was afraid for you to see me again,
Sometimes the memory is better than the reality.
But it was like nothing had ever happened.
I want to see you again, so I wait.
Fall:
We can’t go a day without talking.
I didn’t know you could love me like that.
We’re in the Pines, bathing in the magick.
Touching, kissing, loving…
You promise it won’t be long….I wait.
Winter:
I spend the night, wrapped in your arms.
We have our morning coffee in silence,
Because that is how we like it.
We start making plans for our future.
It won’t be long now, I wait.
Spring:
We spend days at a time lost in each other.
We go out in public, meeting new friends.
We have our first fight and cry.
Another promise broken…
You say you’re going to call…so I wait
Summer:
It has been a year, you’re still not here.
I ache without you, my heart is broken.
This isn’t who I am, it has to change.
How often can you say “I’m working on it”?
The one thing I can’t do anymore…is wait.
