What Could Have Been

I’ve locked away your memories
In a place so far away,
That only time can touch you
But you will not age a day.
You’ll always be that someone
Who stole away my heart,
And left me in that empty place
Once we were apart.
I’ll remember your eyes and beautiful smile
That once lit up my life.
How you looked asleep in our bed
When you wanted me as your wife.
I hope you find your happiness
With whomever she may be.
But don’t forget that all you wanted
You could have found in me.
