Cat and Crow, playing! Now that's enchantment!
This sight is not that astoundingly odd,
Though, if you accept something like a god.
The heck with Darwin, well, at least at times!
Some higher Authority must suspend
The usual law, for them to stay friends.
Why, that's like the lion cuddling the lamb,
In perfect love to protect a youngster!
Cat and Crow, playing! We can plainly see,
Something is wrong with our humanity
When we, with all our brains, cannot make friends.
What an honor this is for noble man,
Failing to do what even this crow can,
Breaking the rules of predator and prey,
To save a kitten, and come back to play
In perfect trust, to the day the crow died!
Author's Notes: This poem sort of has a video to accompany it! Type "Cat and Crow" in Google, then watch and listen. It inspired Lisa Fleming to write the book Cat and Crow. It makes a great gift for Pagan children at Yule, or any time! What story can get them in tune with Mother Nature, the Goddess, better? Also, magnanimity is perhaps the best magick, that can only happen with perfect love and perfect trust. The crow came in perfect love to the kitten to feed it, saving its life, and kept coming back in perfect trust that the now grown cat wouldn't eat it, to the day it died. There's Pagan ethics for your child AND you!
