Proud Possession

Age Group: Adult
A Witch, not limited by any view,
I am, by birth! May I be receptive,
Receiving the Divine Spirit anew,
Not forced to fit concepts which old books give.
Obsessed with miracles of long ago,
I might not fully value those today.
Faith always has adapted to the flow,
To make our chosen path a living way.
Must all not change? No, and yet, not all must.
When I love singing old hymns, yes! I do!
One can have love without the vice of lust;
Without vain pride, the Spirit can move you.
Pride may cause a fall, but why not take pride
In having love? Why head for suicide?
Author's Notes: Yes! Such is the living philosophy of a liberal Witch!
