On Witnessing the Songs of Creation

On witnessing the songs of Creation,
I feel moved! My mind needs to pray, to sing!
At the brink of dawn, in the heart of Spring,
Just before daylight, all around I hear
The "tweet tweet" here, and everywhere. How dear
This encounter is to me! Bless the birds,
Calming my heart, moving me to these words.
Perching on the top of a roof, one sings
Alone, of the mystery of all things,
It seems. I pause, listening, enchanted!
Hating noise, may I hear "tweet tweet" instead.
It is better to invoke you, Goddess,
Than to play God with words which I possess:
At this magical threshold, Oh Eos,
Draw near, please, to help me end the chaos.
Please help me to connect, bond, synchronize
My heartbeat now, with everything which flies,
And sounds this joyous "tweet tweet" in the trees.
Eos, Goddess of Dawn, so mote it be,
Even as morning succeeds dawn, and still
The songbird wakes from slumber the good will.
Yes, Eos, let it be, and blessed be!
