Sacred Drum

Age Group: Adult
We cannot know what might have been,
Nor what might be in times to come.
The springtide rain makes meadows green,
The loving heart beats - sacred drum!
You cannot be the Lord to know,
Nor I the Lady to make truth,
But feeling hearts go with the flow,
And our starry-eyed love can soothe;
So let us share the timeless kiss,
Like lovers on the Grecian urn!
Thus we can feel what true love is,
And the stars in our eyes may burn!
May the stars not shoot down to Earth,
Nor true love turn into mere lust.
To share this love of highest worth!
May it never end in disgust!
This is the sacrament of lips
And two spirits as one - magic!
From blossoms cupped the bee there sips,
Here the threshold is - to Faerie!
In enchantment we embrace each
Other, nor seek I another:
Of sacred love the fairies teach!
Please bless us, Nature, our Mother!
