To spell or to misspell

Sometimes I am not quite with it!
But really, must I much miss it?
Oh dear! I do "Aunt Clara jobs"! 1
But we can laugh. Why should we sob?
My friend gave me a popsickle.
I was struggling with opening
The plastic package, but it was!
Yes, there are two ends to the thing!
This illustrates four basic laws:
Head before hands is - magical!
Remember the forgotten end.
Never underestimate friends.
To be befriended, first befriend.
Are there two sides to everything?
Both bad and good even in spring?
When the river was high, the rat
Betrayed the friendship of the cat! 2
The better side of any tale
Is the one where neither side fails.
To help you avoid quite some mess,
I had better add this P.S..
When grooming a dog, take my tip:
It has a second side to clip!
Author's Notes: 1 Clara is Samantha's Aunt in Bewitched. She forgets how to do spells quite right. "Oh dear!"
2 In the pagan story of how the Chinese zodiac got the names of the animals, the animals are in a race to cross the river, to get honored by having one of the years named after them. Rat and cat were friends who agreed to ride on the back of the buffalo. But to get all the glory himself, rat pushed cat into the river.
