"Say Hello Skyler"

I knew a younger lady named Sandie.
It surely was a match made in Heaven,
No less than young Werther and dear Lotte!
To her, I was a friend to walk her dogs.
I thought, perhaps, that she was something more.
She had a Macaw named Skyler. Was he
Ever a mischievous, little devil!
I brought crackers for him, to start off right,
But instead he gave my fingers a bite!
"Say hello skyler, say hello - awwwk! - talk -
Tawwwk! - cracker skyler crackercracker - awwwk!"
I gave her a peck on the cheek. The result
Was as though I had committed assault!
She propelled me with her powerful shout
To the front door. Then came those fateful words
Exploding from her mouth, "Never again!"
Just before I left, I heard Skyler call,
"Goodbye! Goodbye!" We made friends after all!
How my heart was broken, but believe me,
'All's well that ends well' makes sound therapy!
