The Most Magical Deed

Age Group: Adult
It is very hard to be a lover
Of animals in this disregarding,
Hateful world. Quite little does man honor
The dogs, while he is brutally scorning
The wolves, their quite close and ancestral kin.
Taking in cats means honoring tigers
As cats, not dwarfed by this world we live in,
Roaring, to which the purring cat aspires.
To work magic, please walk the extra mile.

I cannot win, you say? Then may I smile -
Sacrificed for a magical mission!
I think that is the most magical deed:
Walking the extra mile to meet the need.
