What a price is paid for the know-it-alls!
There are things which we are not meant to know,
Under microscopes and in crystal balls.
You do? Pretend you do not know them so!
Too much knowledge is very destructive.
To know a goddess in all her glory
Is to pay the price of ceasing to live.
Man knows too much. How the world is sorry!
Our science has led up to knowing how
To upset the balance of - everything!
Harder than science is the magic now:
To turn a sewer back into a spring!
Man values least what maybe would most help
Everything around him: knowing himself.
