Three Little Witches

Age Group: Adult
The number of raindrops precisely fine,
And just the right number of beams to shine,
What a day it has been - simply divine!
It took millions of fairies to make it,
So may we not easily forsake it.
Already it is just two thirds as blue
And as true as when its heavens were new!
Dark forces work to steal all its life - fast!
All this soon might be a thing of the past,
Unless we witches unite to save it.
Fierce the fight must be, but witches, brave it!
The minutes add up to hours, in the wink
Of dark eyes! The sun has begun to sink.
Now it will take armies soaring on brooms
To prevent the final theft - this day's doom!
How the number of us witches is few
With charms enough to save the bits of blue!
The horizon is covered with blood red
Coloring the clouds. Will this day go dead?
Mobilized by the horrifying sight,
We witches work magic with all our might!
Our spells are strong, but our numbers not right.
Alas! The last rays have died! Oh Goddess,
If only we were more! Then sweet success
Would have been shining down onto us still,
For we fought the darkness with fervent will.
Let us three muster our remaining strength
To sweep the clouds away along the length
Of the sad horizon. So mote it be!
Sweep, besoms, sweep! Away you clouds tragic!
Behold, the sweeping yet works some magic!
These final efforts of us witches three
Gives the darkness a starry sanctity.
