Garfield's Favorite!

Beyond the means to build those timeless wonders,
The Pyramids, the top thing discovered
By the Egyptians is the sacredness of
Cats! They were selected by the Mother
Herself, as trustworthy of such wisdom!
Her reason is, I think, cats keep secrets
With their wise manner of keeping quiet.
Undeserving fools are not to know it!
E equals m c squared, the time and space
Of relativity, cats knew all this,
I suspect, from the very beginning -
As knowledge not safe for the human race!
Therefore, beyond the whiskers of the face
Of the Cat, this science was kept hidden.
Any cat, I trust, could rule some kingdom,
But every cat glides away with that grace
Which even plain cats show, thus to embrace
The comfort of his person's lap, and nap!
No, cats do not even need to have wings 1
For us to know them as magical things!
The Goddess has the wisdom to select,
For sure! Look! Her selection is purrrfect!
No other creature merits getting blessed
More with that wisdom, which we have transgressed.
Author's Notes: 1 Cats have been known to be born with extra flaps of skin on their backs. These look like wings.
