Yearning

Age Group: Adult
A life of years in goodness spent,
At peace with all, without lament,
Is like a pristine forest green
With fairies singing songs serene!
How they harmonize with those birds,
Which in the spring make their lives heard!
A life of years spent in goodness
Has a power like May, to bless
The bygone months of winter cold
With spring's rebirth, as buds unfold!
What charms it has, of leaves gone bright
As well, in the autumnal light!
In goodness spent, the years of life
Bring blessedness worth all the strife,
And as the years keep flying by,
They bring to mind the flock so high
With promises of returning!
Life thus becomes worth the yearning!
