Anger

I feel them coming on.
The Emotions.
Frustration, Madness, Anger.
Flashing red and crimson across my vision.
Pulsing violently in my head and in my mind.
I want them to stop.
To go away.
But the more I fight them,
The harder they try to stay.
The feelings I try hard to repress.
Why can't they just let me feel happiness?
I feel like I'm drowning deep in water.
Why can't they just let me be?!
Go away!
I want to be free!
But no, oh no, they won't let me go.
CAN'T let me go.
They hold me in their grasp so tightly.
So tightly, until they have me wiggling and squirming,
Trying so hard to get away.
When they have had their fun with me,
They drop me, like a used rag.
They hide behind their hands and snicker at me,
Laughing at what they had caused me to do.
They may be gone now, but they'll be back.
Oh, yes, they will.
They are never completely done with me.
With anyone.
Always lurking around a corner, waiting to spring.
So, I'll do what I can.
Try and keep them back.
But, in the end, I'll fail.
We always do
Author's Notes: I wrote this several days ago when I got extremely angry. After I wrote it, I felt better. When I let one of my teahers read it, she compared me to Edgar Allen Poe. I felt really good, because Poe is one of my favorite poets.
