Tomorrow Will Be Coming
by Blaze Phoenix
Age Group: Adult
By brier thorn and painted leaf
and busheled golden harvest sheaf
the land will mourn Her fallen Sun
and weep wet tears when summer's done.
The roots drink deep, their growth to keep,
but taste of death upon their tongues.
The barley's reaped, the pyre's heaped
while all the world prepares to sleep;
yes, all the world prepares to sleep.
By leaf and sheaf and sacrificed priest
behold the first taste of the dawn!
Erase the fear to hold it dear
and know the power of the feast,
the beauty of a sweet release.
For love of life, the passing on.
Carve a gourd to light the ways, and
call the spirits, "Be our guides!"
Forward through the end of days
beyond the western rolling tides.
Where King and Queen enthroned in peace
away the boat to take our hands.
Beyond abyss on hope we stand.
Past the guard on hope we stand.
For love and life and coming dawn,
the journey Tetragrammaton.
