I Am…
I am a shadow, all alone and forgotten,
I wonder why they don’t notice me any more.
I hear of all the things they’ve done,
I see all the things they do.
I want to be needed and remembered,
I am a shadow, all alone and forgotten.
I pretend it’s all a dream, just my imagination,
I feel the hole they left.
I touch their picture everyday,
I worry if something happened.
I cry because I know the truth,
I am a shadow, all alone and forgotten.
I understand why the wouldn’t want me around,
I say to myself, why would anyone.
I dream of them every night,
I try to convince my self that they’ll return.
I hope they’re happy,
I am a shadow, all alone and forgotten.
