Eight years

Eight Years
The flowers of Edo are blooming in lands that are far away. The explosions there are deafinging and black smoke smothers the light of day.The blood flowing from the soldiers runs red on either side. On they fight blind to the spirits of eight years of men who fought and died.
Author's Notes: This poem came to me as I thought about the conflict in Afganistan and Iraq one in wich my own nephew is fighting. A small look into this conflict trough my eyes. were ever you are my nephew be safe. Enjoy and please extend your prayers for him and all the young soldiers. brothers sisters sons fathers mothers daughters nephews neices and cousins fighting in that bloody conflict thank you.
