Desires (2) , Fear

Desires (1)
O desirous one
when your desires are granted
you want more.
When they are unfulfilled
you grow discontent.
How can you win?
Turn away from desire.
Consider your need.
What do you really need?
Herein is where contentment resides.

Desires (2)
O man, what is this ceaseless hunger
which drives you to try
all manner of things?
Why are you never satisfied,
for very long, with the result
and must, continually, look for more?
Who placed these desires within
so, you might strive to fill them?
Give thought to these questions
and examine your answers.
Often, you accept secondary phenomena
and do not look deeper.
Remember, hungers and desires
are never permanently satisfied.
They are tied to the physical world
and are without end.
Only that which is of the Light
is truly lasting.

Fear
Each of us
builds walls around us
to hide away our fears.
Often, our daily patterns of work & play
can be jailors which bind
our true, lasting, transcendent nature.
Of what are we afraid?
O fragile one-
we are the caterpillar
who is too timid
to break out of the cocoon!
