Aftermath

DAMN…
My soul aches,
my heart breaks.
If you only knew
How much pain I am in right now.
How much I want to just hold you,
How much I miss you,
How much I care for you
And worry if you are all right.
How I miss your touch,
Your smile,
Your kiss,
Your lips.
How much I miss holding you,
Teasing you,
Pleasing you.
I miss your voice.
Hearts are fragile
And mine lies broken
In millions of pieces.
I was never happier,
Never more alive,
Never more aware,
Never more in love,
Than when you were with me.
Last thing on my mind at night
Before I fall asleep,
First thing on my mind
When I awake,
Since the beginning,
And I cry…
No One has ever touched me
In SO many ways
In SO short of a time
Or EVER so deeply as you have,
Or ever will again.
I cry
Because I realize that
I AM getting TOO old for this sh*t.
I feel
Like I can’t go on –
Don’t want to go on –
Without you.
That when you came into my life
It was like a piece of my very soul
Came home
And I felt complete.
When you left…
A very large part of me, my soul,
Was re-ripped from me
Leaving it jagged and bleeding –
That the only thing left
Is to wither and die
Like so many flowers in autumn.
I’ve been trying to maintain
A happey face
But my Perma-Smile (P.S.)
Hass frozen into
A grimace, a frown,
A Permanent-Scowl of discontent
And loneliness.
And there are only two cures
to be with you, or
cease to be.
And since I can’t be with you
I have no choice
But to relinquish what little left of my soul
To the eternal abyss.
I have even considered
Weaving a spell to bring you back,
Make you my slave,
But I can’t.
You made your choice (free will)
Your decision
And I must live
Or die with it.
