Bestman and Groom's men

People use titles that are seeped in history and never think of the real intent of the title or position of honor. For example in weddings it is a great honor to be the best man, but through history this position was always your best sword man and most reliable friend. The right hand man stood next to you and guarded your back, while you concentrated on your betrothed, defenses having been dropped. Offering any objections in the past was a insult to the honor of the groom a mortal offense. Groom's men aren't just standing there looking pretty, but were a personal army to prevent the "theft" of the bride.
I recently was asked to leave a wedding reception with another group I came with, it wasn't the groom's men or even the best man that asked us to leave it was the maid of honor. No offense, but sending a woman to do this job was not only stupid but cowardice and a total neglect of the best man's position of honor. So next time you attend a wedding or even plan one keep in mind the real honor of this position and the duty you must perform. Pacification of the male is no excuse for this breech of edicate.
