O' Mother Moon

Age Group: Adult
In perfect possition she still resides.
O' Mother Moon, so pale and ghostly white,
Across the midnight sky she smoothly glides,
But sadly Mister Sun is full of smite.
O' Mother Moon always around the stars.
She perches, glowing within a crowd of friends.
Her cycles make her different than Mars.
She starts small, then grows, but when it ends
She vanishes to start again so new.
A crescent moon, be but a dainty smirk.
She grows, as so, She glows infront of blue
A watching eye, in empty skys she lurk.
As Mister Sun has risen, you fade too soon.
So full of mystery, O' Mother Moon.
Author's Notes: :) i wrote this for my Honors English 1 class.
Its a Shakespeareian sonnet about the Moon and her beauty. My teacher grades papers on a 1 to 4 scale ( 1 being really really terrible, 4 being more than expected or advanced.) . I made a 4. :)
