Gold Furred Familiar

I see you over there, Ol' Gold Eyes
How fat you've gotten as of late!
I know that boredom is just your guise.
Cold air against gold fur, just what you hate.
Why do you hide your power,
long ago granted by Bast and Sekhmet,
to merely sit and glower,
silently telling me that you want pet?
You sit so regal and sleep like the dead,
lying there, upon violet sheets,
what could be going through a hunter's head?
Creeping, and hunting, and other great feats?
My familiar, my love, you shed too much!
Gold clumps and stays on that bed!
You don't care, a touch is a touch.
Could Egyptian worship have gone to your head?
You crazy cat, but I love you so,
lending me your power and silent grace,
I'm taking you with me when I go,
To Texas we race,
To live with those who care for us,
and won't cause you to lose your fur!
You'll no longer have to spit and cat-cuss!
And you will get to forever purr.
Author's Notes: This is about my cat, Sexy (honestly his real name!) . He's my honey, and he helps me when I need it.
The part about when I go has nothing to do with death. Its about when I move to Texas. Just wanted to clear that up.
