Lost and Alone

Age Group: Adult
Lost and alone, I find myself.
Looking, but never finding that which I seek.
For what is love, but a dream that only brings pain.
An emotion that only brings hollow hope, and despair in the end.
So I am alone, with no one by my side.
Trust given and then betrayed.
Why must I believe in something that is not?
Believe that one is able to see what I am.
Someone who was once capable of great love,
But now only jaded and spiteful.
I gave too much of myself,
Only to have thrown back in my face.
So now where does this leave me?
Now that I ask.
When I lay dying, who will be there?
No one, for who would care?
