Melancholy Nights

Snow is falling
Death is near
clouds gather
Hiding the world from light
Huddle close little ones
The light isn't that far away
Catch the frozen butterfly before all the life seeps away
Fly so free little ones
feel no pain
See the snow falling faster
close your eyes
Feel the heart beating slower
candlelight flickers
Don't wake up now little one
The morning you will never see
Gather around as I tell the story
About when the snow and the wind were one
And the children had no fear of the cold
They played quietly by the fire
Watching the dance of the flames
No thoughts of the outside, No worries of the unknown
Sing your last song
It's all over now
Don't waste that last rattled breath
There's no life left in those eyes little one
The snow queen and I become one
Author's Notes: My obsession with The Snow Queen lead me to write this. Also, it was a request from some one to have a piece of me. I gladly wrote this for them. I think they were quite amazed and surprised. Sadly, I no longer talk to those people but this remains.
