Babe Plays For Pan

~Babe Plays For Pan~
Babe takes a walk to the forest's edge, not fear nor natures sound. Tiny foot guides his step, for the whispers he is bound. Midforest shines a dim gaunt ray and mixes babe around. His tiny foot lost amongst the trees and forest ground. Then whispers hears the babe again, and to them he does rise. He finds the Pan at water's edge, to startle and surprise. Pan gives cause to lend a hand, for babe is lost for sure. Twas whispers of the live oaks, bid the babe to forest lure. When babe takes a notion and cries with sobbing yipes, tis Pan that plays a gentle tune, low upon his pipes.Then he gives the reeds to babe, to take from his own hand. He listens quite contently, as babe, then plays for Pan. As the day grows mid high noon and babe is hunger prone. It's Pan that takes babe's hand and leads him safely home....Panisch~
Author's Notes: A poem of a dream I had as a child about being lost in the forest and having Pan take me back home.
