The well of souls is firelight
burning blue against the inner flesh.
The web of life is child's play
cats-cradle and the London Bridge.
The mysteries unravel at my feet.
I grasp the power that they bring
twist it to my will to bring you to your knees.
Then let it go,
a whispered thought.
Like spiders silk
I'll let it drift away.
Once more I fear myself knowing.
Author's Notes: Some times I dream waking dreams.
I remember the blue sea walls and pillars of off white carved by master craftsmen and long since sunk into the deeps. I remember feeling wonder and amazement, feeling sadness and confusion, love and loss...then nothing. A distant cliff where surf booms against granite, mist hanging in the air and the old familiar smells and noise of the cross road tavern my sister and I ran together "Red Rabbit Special, No Twist! Get Your Gods Damned Boots Off My Bar!". An old raven perched on the sign post to my right caws a greeting as if we're old friends, then takes off to light on my shoulder. He preens my hair as it blows in the breeze, he caws again, a chirping noise, and picks at my ear as if to say "Come on now, move your feet. You've been away long enough, time to forget and get back to life."
