Untimely Death
by Mimi Dawn Moonstone
Age Group: Adult
Tears fall down my face,
At the sweetness of your embrace.
One lands on your sleeve,
The one that has been wrapped around me.
The tenderness in my mind,
The happiness that you are always kind.
I’m laying here in your arms,
Knowing that nothing can cause us harm.
I snuggle closer and keep on crying,
Not knowing why my heart is dying.
My head, it lays on your shoulder,
My skin is getting colder.
I look up into your face,
And enjoy this one last embrace.
I close my eyes and try to smile,
While still crying all the while.
I hug you tight,
Knowing that this is the last night.
I take one last breath trying to hold on but to fail,
I try holding in this crying wail.
But as I let out this breathe,
I welcome in this untimely death.
