Gaia's Artwork

I lay on the grass
And stare at the sky.
The calm water above me,
The clouds, it's glaciers.
I think about this world;
What is it all about?
How do we think, breathe, see,
And yet still manage to stay unsatisfied?
The seconds that pass,
The minutes that slip away,
And still I lay here,
Untouched by negative hands and words.
The wind still blows,
Like a whisper in my ear;
Words softly telling me,
"This is where you're meant to be."
I sit up for a moment,
And look up at the art around me.
Lush greens, calm blues, and more;
like a painting made by the Goddess' delicate hands.
I take a breath and sigh,
The sweet air fills my lungs.
I feel my body being cleansed
As Gaia calms my soul.
Author's Notes: I wrote this during my senior year in high school last year. I was going through a lot and Gaia became my escape. I think we can all agree that we can feel some peace and power when we meditate. Thats what this poem means. Gaia is the poetry, ya dig?
