The Third Leg

The Third Eye
Afternoon sun sets as a sea of white forms
Come Papa!
Come!!!!
Come and let the sun in, come!
The Serviteur : tall and lanky perches his chest out
and coughs
Oh, come old bones
Come and walk!
Can't YOU see that I have no bones to walk with........
the walk comes closer
The serviteur grabs him and His walking stick.......
PAPA, come!
Please come!
Sit in the third sun of the third day.....
Walking stick's proud
lanky twisted body in the sun sits
Can't YOU see that I have no "bones"!
The serviteur bends slowly to bring up "the old man"
"I carry You softly!"
"I carry You boldly1"
"I carry You richly!"
I carry You discreetly!"
"I carry You for I love You!"
For You have carried me many times before!
Papa mine
Papa divine
Papa Legba!
COME!
Author's Notes: I was reading Maya Deren's book "The Divine Horsemen" while traveling to VA Beach and this poem suddenly came to me. I had to write it down instantly so I would not forget
