Guardian

Guardian of my dreams
From the dark recesses of my mind
Come and protect me
From these atrocious times
The light it shines too bright
And the darkness, it beckons
Protect me with your might
In a faint my sight blackens
Around me I feel the warmth of your arms
In a protective embrace
I know I shall have no harm
My fear goes without a trace
I awake with such a start
The reality pounding around me
The sun rises with song of lark
The light through the windows early
Though you are of another realm
Your protection will never falter
One night we shall meet near the elm
My life course forever altered
