Benediction to the Dead

Goddess keep thee on thy flight,
Soul that journeys to the light.
All you leave behind say farewell,
And remember you in stories to tell.
Be safe, be free, till again we meet,
Dance you now on lighter feet.

Author's Notes: I have told this to a few people when they have lost someone they cared about... No one ever tells me if it helps them or not. I just think it's kind of pretty, maybe a bit soothing... Mayhap... If you like it, please tell me. I'm interested also in how other people say goodbye to their loved ones... Since we all have to do it at one point or other... Especially, it seems, these days, when so many of us are losing friends and family in "war zones."
