Rainbow

Purple, blue, green.
Yellow, orange, red.
Look up, young babe,
To the arch so pure
That it lasts but a moment.
See something written
By unseen hands
In the sky so blue
That no clouds can fade
Nor drain that color
As it lights your face.
Pure light, pure love.
Does it ever exist
Where darkness does not reign
Or can a light only shine,
When darkness encloses?
Out of stormy drear,
This clear light, beautiful.

Author's Notes: This is one of several more poems I found. When I wrote them, I’m not sure. Probably before I was taken out of that school in New Jersey where I almost lost my hold on this world. Possibly as reflections once I was out of there, remembering what happened to me there. I can’t remember and I didn’t date them. Some of them are pretty, some aren’t, some are obvious attempts to imitate some style I must have been either studying or interested in at the time. If you wish to comment, don’t hesitate to do so.
Hey, rainbows are pretty. And they do seem to be a blessing of some kind... I know I've seen a really rare one... A triple rainbow, and since three is such an important number for us, well, why not?
