Fantasy

I’m drowning
And no one cares.
Only in my mind am I alive.
Nothing but fantasy,
Places that don’t exist,
People only I know,
A love my heart yearns for.
Mountains all around,
Dragons in the air,
The home I wish I had,
If only they were real.
The man I love lives there,
Among my oldest friends.
If he truly lives,
If he is not just a dream,
Then search I will,
Until I die,
To find him, the only man I love.

Author's Notes: This is one of several more poems I found. When I wrote them, I’m not sure. Probably before I was taken out of that school in New Jersey where I almost lost my hold on this world. Possibly as reflections once I was out of there, remembering what happened to me there. I can’t remember and I didn’t date them. Some of them are pretty, some aren’t, some are obvious attempts to imitate some style I must have been either studying or interested in at the time. If you wish to comment, don’t hesitate to do so.
Sappy, I know... Oh well... *sigh* I spent so much time just fantasizing... Trying to forget for a while how much pain I was in... Sometiems it helped, sometimes it didn't. But that pain is in the past now... And my memories of these dreams are still some of the sweetest I have... Oh, and for those who are curious, yes, I'm talking about the Golden-Eyed Man again...
