Reach for me, take my hand
Hear my call, from the shadowland.
I am in darkness, can I be saved?
My spirit is primal, but it can be tamed.
My roar is just pretense, a refuge from pain
Self-tormenting deluge, depths forlorn,
My road is in darkness, one traveled alone.
My eyes have seen much, of death and decay,
I rode with malevolence, I drifted astray.
Yet inside the veil I have an essence of light,
The trees they know me, they know of my plight.
I resurrected myself from a trial of fire,
My spirit in ashes, cleansed by the pyre.
I arose in the sunlight, and sliced through the sky.
Reborn like the Phoenix, triumph my cry.
So I tell you this now, lest you take my hand,
That if I’m slow to trust, you may understand,
I see love as a beacon, the ultimate truth,
Yet time I require, I’ll need evident proof.
Through fire and darkness, together as one
Residual memories, my curse is undone
Shrouded in suffering, but longing to soar
Impassioned embrace can unlock the door,
Farewell to the shadowland, my facade is no more.
