Sighs So Melodious
by Life is a Dance Regardless
Age Group: Adult
Gardens of green
Men in flowing robes of blue and silver
A garden
Where no pain touches plants or men or women
Where birds sing in songs understandable to all creatures
An air of peace
We mere humans are able to let go and fall back into the pond
Where lily pads gently kiss the water
And frogs croak their deep-throated lullabies
Trees hum tunes while their leaves rustle in the breeze
Happiness to the ears
I wish I did not sigh so long and sad
For this melodious synchronization of sounds
Brings a tear so full of happiness that where it falls
A rainbow grows
In paradise
No twinge or ache of past wants and such
They do not pierce the beauty
For if they did
They would only be consumed
For beauty envelopes everything if one takes the time
To listen
To sit in stillness
To know when words should not be spoken
To truly look and cry for the beauty of life that lies in your path
The touch of a butterfly’s wing against my cheek, my neck, my shoulder
A gentle kiss from the ever gentle lips of life
Teaching, urging the pain right out through the top of your head
The pain enveloped by the sun and dissipated
A swirl of memories forgotten, ancient in the summer breeze
What has passed is no more and I hold a new life in my hands
Now all I must do is plant it
Where it will grow
Where it will be nurtured
Properly
Ever so coolly
Crickets fiddle playing in melodious sighs
And holy, earthly, motherly days
Author's Notes: I actually wrote this while listening to "Sigh No More" off of the Much Ado About Nothing soudtrack and watching the video. The imagery makes me feel so at peace, and no matter how badly my day is going, this image makes me smile so fully, that I realize beauty truly does envelope everything that is ugly and heartbreaking.
