This Road

You’ve taken many roads, set foot on the path leading, winding, like a ribbon off into the hills. The allure of the open sky and sun on your back, the freedom to run like the gypsy you are. Follow it, follow it wherever it goes, if it takes you down dark dangerous trails and yet you must see, then go, take the trial by fire, live with the repercussions and learn, your knowledge is power. If it takes you under hills into the fairyland to be spirited away, then by all means, partake fully of their wine and meat and forget and enjoy. If it takes you into unknown forests where you travel under green dappled leaves, then cry at the beauty of it and laugh with the Ancient Ones. If it takes you through meadows and fields, then remember your visions, memories, and dreams. If it takes you into the bower of a beautiful man or woman then love passionately and freely, take union without guilt, and walk when the road lures you away, don’t look back. If it takes you into a wonderland of mystical beasts and creatures then lie down with the puma, and hide with the rabbit, let the dragon breathe heat down on you, let the unicorn pierce you and change you into the will of the Green Man, his own kind of creature that frolics with all animals. If you come into the shadowland of death and decay, walk through unafraid, this road we will all take, if you come through alive, know then that you have things yet to do, if you do not come through, then square your shoulders and have delight in your soul. Know now that before you the Goddess has tread, but you have a new road before you.
