Ostara
In my garden blooms
the harbinger of "spring"
forsythia's yellow blaze
invites the world to sing.
When clocks we set ahead
and morning coffee's late
we hate to leave the bed
and hurry to the gate.
The flower beds are brimming
with growth that you can see
narcissus blooms are grinning
and buds have filled the tree.
The morning sun is shining
while herding wispy clouds
and warming birds to singing
in ever-growing crowds.
Ostara is the reason
new life each year will bring,
the name reflects the season
though some, just call it spring.
