Lady, Our Mother

Lady, Our Mother
Our Mother from whom all life flows
Blessed be in glory, eternal.
Your children praise you
And call on you in sorrow and joy.
Be with us, we ask you.
Grant us your loving kindness
And hear us when we call.
Teach us your wisdom,
Compassion and beauty of spirit.
Help us follow in your footsteps
With steadfast spirit and honor.
Divine gentle Lady we ask,
Provide for us in your bounty,
And be with us as we end this life
Until we return again to complete the circle.
So mote it be.
Author's Notes: In case anyone missed it, I am new to Wicca, and I am still within my year-and-a-day of study before initiation, As a dedicant I have sought to honor the Goddess the way Christians honor God with the "Our Father." The present work represents my attempt to address from a Wiccan perspective our Lady, to whom I wish to dedicate myself and the remainder of this current life. I am well aware of the diversity in Wiccan beliefs, and our tradition of complete acceptance of the choices of humans (including other Wiccans) in belief and worship. Therefore, I simply offer this poem for viewing and use by anyone who has sought the magick of a prayer to our Lady Deity.
