The Rede in Our Crede

The Rede in Our Crede
Anger be damned! It gives me no joy,
Still, angry I am, and I won't be coy!
I seek to express: with pain I am cursed,
Silent I bear what others would burst.
The night brings no sleep
My pain is intense
A dark mind is deep
When angry and tense
Revenge sounds so sweet
Get even I must,
To hand him defeat,
His ego to bust!
And in my mind's eye
My poison he drinks,
I laugh till I cry
As drowning he sinks.
And when its all done
My anger all gone
My foe has now won!
Disaster at dawn
For inside I know
Resentment will follow
No loss to my foe
My vict'ry is hollow!

I started with pain
Resentment galore
I did not complain
I walked out the door
How diff'rent the path
To say what I meant
Avoiding all wrath:
Tell all till I'm spent
My foe did not know,
He listened with care
His head now hung low
Avoiding my stare
With tears in our eyes
We hugged making peace
No need for my lies,
We both found release!

Author's Notes: Anger is natural, what we do with it is our sacred responsibility. The rule of three cautions us, and when we fail to heed its advice, we learn that anger, resentment, and a desire to "get even" simply put you further behind. Likewise, there is no wasted love or compassion for others. These too come back threefold. It is easy to forget this lesson, but My Lady is tireless in teaching me. She quietly whispers to my heart, and always and in everything, even if I am not on the right track, she guides me and reminds me. How could I possibly not love My Lady? Blessed be, and special blessings will follow all those who listen to Her advice.
