Body and Soul

Body and Soul
The lights are low,
The day is done,
And still the glow
Has just begun;
The summer’s day
Is now within—
As shadows play
Upon your skin.
Without a sound
Desire grows,
And all around
Emotion flows;
In here, within—
In secret parts—
Where no one’s been
Within our hearts.
At times it seems
The light above,
The moon that beams
An breathes of love;
With quiet breeze—
In jeweled skies—
They wink and tease
Within your eyes.
And as they tease
I see your smile—
I beg you, please,
To stay a while;
I need your touch,
To feel you near,
It means so much
It quells my fear.
At one in flight
As one we seek
Throughout the night
Until we’re weak—
As shadows fall
There is no fear
I hear your call
"Stay my dear"
Upon the dawn
All dressed in dew—
The night is gone,
Spent loving you;
As we entwine
I breathe my goal—
Will you be mine
In body and soul?
