Lessons Learned
My heart is all broken
It's made of Swiss cheese
The longer I'm living
The less it can please!
How losing in ten days
Can a movie prescribe
The fate of a romance
From sublime to a bribe?
So what are the lessons
Which our loving returns
To heart, soul, perception
Which in memory burns?
Examine your conscience
Before you give away
If you may want it back,
Hold your breath, leave it lay!
