Morning Forest

Morning Forest
Your breath you can see
in this morning forest.
By heather and tree
your troubles must go rest.
Whose words echo still
in the mists of your soul?
Just how to fulfill
quiet longings and goals?
The hush of the scene
bid you halt where you stood
mid dew-covered green
and scent of the wet wood;
when silent crisp air
invites breathless laughter,
as visions so fair
sing songs ever after!
You suddenly ask:
Is this such a vision?
Discernment your task
afraid of revision!
But no, you are here
you will not be leaving
for hearts do not fear
where there's no more grieving.

Author's Notes: I wrote this poem today, as a message to a friend who lost a family member. May it give solace to anyone who reads it.
