Old Mother
by Gloria Gypsy
Age Group: Adult
She whispers to me through the wind
of days gone by and love.
Oh wintry old woman
place your cold kiss upon my brow
and guide me along my path.
The mother cries alone today
beneath the willow tree
and mother looks down upon
her child lost upon the way.
She told me of the world
through the eyes of the
black feathered raven.
Old crone all wrinkled and aged
come sit with me beside the fire
and warm your ancient bones.
