Life of Vice

Age Group: Adult
Pride.
I never had Pride,
Envy.
If I told you I was not jealous of those who have pride,
I would have lied.
Lust.
I want so many peoples affection like some sweet confection.
Wrath.
I feel it towards people who pretend to be my friends.
Greed.
I no longer feel you, but you taught me so much.
Gluttony.
What I want in life,
Fun and freedom,
Fine wines and foods,
I want so much of it,
I want it all.
Sloth.
I do so little and yet I do not wish to do more,
I guess thats why I do not have finer things in life,
Maybe thats why I sleep everywhere I go.
My religion is based on all this sin,
My cares on the wind it does throw,
And yet somehow I feel fantastic most of the time and feel like I win?
Yet I can forgive so much that no one else can.
A cheating spouse I forgave within a few weeks,
Why?
Because I know how it feels to lust and want sweet kisses and more,
How it feels to go to a new place,
Knock on new peoples door.
Exciting.
Thank you Lust for teaching me addiction is not always substance.
I am rested almost always,
I can relax when I am sick,
I will never be bored because I can find rest in my mind,
Thank you sloth for making me so calm.
I can find reason to pursue lifes best experiences,
Travels to England to explore new places,
To Canada for fishing,
Meeting new people and seeing lifes many new faces.
Thank you Gluttoney for making me desire lifes best.
Greed taught me how people see a greedy person,
Taught me what not to be and why.
Taught me not to be a thief,
Unless I needed to and only if I needed food or die.
Wrath taught me how to keep my ground,
Taught me how to make my presence known,
Showed me how to keep others from stepping on me or crossing me,
It showed me how to calm the wrathful and solve a fight,
Without using fists or any might.
Envy keeps me striving to find out who I am,
Because I am jealous of those who know who they are.
I am learning to be prideful but in doses,
Because it lets me voice my opinion without doubt.
I love my life of Sin,
Now you know why.
