Not So Silent Thoughts And Fears

Here I sit on this Vow of Silence,
Completely silent,
I enjoy the serenity,
The nonverbal chatter,
However my lonely thinking keeps me up to three,
Three in the morning,
Alone.
These thoughts are as hard on me,
Self degradation and doubt,
Lingering pain and woe,
In silence I will heal,
But I have help.
Feeling prone,
Prone to my temptations and other's dramatics,
I cannot let it out!
I begin to feel the urge for self abuse,
But that is not the route.
A bout of a heavy heart,
A temptation of a strawberry streak along skin,
How to turn a frown to a grin is the hard part,
Hard because it has to come from within.
This is not an easy confession however,
I am afraid every time to speak,
Because someone said everly so clever,
"It is better to remain silent and look foolish, than to speak out and remove all doubt",
And while it is true to the point of looking bleak,
I know I have to speak,
After all "Playing it safe is the most popular route."
To Fail.
Time to Speak,
Not just a noise,
Not just a squeak,
Full blown words full of colour and intelligence,
Loud and to be heard.
This frightens me.
Stay by my side,
And I can give up my silence for a day or so,
With you I can survive the emotional throws.
But until the day there is a need to speak,
I will enjoy this calm,
With open eyes and ears and palms,
I will enjoy it all.
