The Thing That Scared Me Most
by Gram Alabaster
Age Group: Adult
When I hit the ground everything went black,
Yes I was dying and yes I was bleeding,
I was definetly dying and I was worried,
No not worried but seething with hate,
Being told what I saw you could most likely relate,
There was no light,
There was not light that I could see in my state of mind,
Fact is it was pitch black night,
All I heard all throughout this experience,
Was screaming and my head in a grind atop ground,
That is the scariest thing I have or have not seen,
Just knowing that there might be no life after this life,
It feels worse than the feeling of that one retched knife,
So to those that say there is a white light,
You were lacking air to your head,
That is until they landed you in the hospital bed,
And the only thing that kept you sane,
Was the idea that you saw a thread of light,
But my news is all too bad for it is your bane,
If I told you all that your weakness would come from your might,
Now is that not scary?
