Bleeding Heart (it feels like a...)

It feels like a tug
deep in my flesh
under my ribs
beneath my breasts.
I feel it squeezed
splat like a grape
torn like a sail
loose as a snake.
It feels like a word
spoken in hate
It feels like a strike
I feel like bait.
Long are the claws
and clammy the hands
that rip through my chest
and pull out the strands.
It feels like it's empty
dank as a cave
moist as the dew
cold as the grave.
Author's Notes: This is sorta dark for me, but it seems as late there are those who have been bleeding me dry, and I just needed to get that out. Ah, poetry, how cathertic you be!..I feel better already.
