Question of the Week: 99 - 2/16/2003 What Moon Phase Are You In? Consider the phases of the moon: Waxing (strengthening, enlarging, increasing), Full (powerful, energetic, extroverted, public), Waning (banishing, forgetting, diminishing, retreating), New (hidden, secret, introverted) and Once in A Blue (unexpected, outside the norm, quirky, special). Which such ‘phase’ is your life, emotional state or spiritual growth in right now? Do you consider and/or utilize the moon phases in your spell work or rituals? How so? |

right now i suppose that i would be waxing. like the seasons, i am sort of in a transition between winter and spring. i don't know about what it's like where any of you live, but where i live it's snowing, a lot, and it has been all day. i have all this extra energy from winter, and i'm almost bursting from it! and as long as this weather stays cold, my energy will keep on increasing. hope for warmer weather!!! |

I would want to be the Ghost of Yule Future because i thought the whole death guy was rather cool...Death has always mezmorized me (i fear it not but rather embrase it) . death is a mysterious thing that most people cannot comprehend to the extent it should be. Who would i "haunt"...i would haunt someone famous...just to show them that in the end, famous people end up in the same place as everyone else so they shouldn't let fame get to their heads...hehehehe...and i want to be famous one day..lol...well i suppose that is all...buh bye |

Even though some (probably most) , would say I have been in the "Once in a Blue Moon phase" for about the last 50 years. I'd say I am comming to the end of a full moon phase and about to enter a waning/waxing phase. We (my parther and I) have decided to leave the corporate world over the next couple of years and will be setting up an art gallery on a few hectars of land we have come by, beside Algonquin Park in Ontario. Algonquin Park is a rather large (7, 725 square km) park with very few roads. http://www.algonquinpark.on.ca/geninfo/gethere.html gives a sample map of the area. We hope to get away from the hussle&busstle and just plain nastyness we find in city anymore; here. |

I think that I can summ up my current state by comparing it to a waxing Moon. I have evolve so much in the last couple of months. I feel a new sense of vogor and it feels like She is teaching me more right now than I have ever been receptive to learn. The waxing phase relates also more personally because as a Dianic, and a previously rejected one based on gender, my fellow Dianics are beggining to see past my gender and accepting me as one who loves Her so much. I hope this waxing never ends! |

My life and emotional state is in a Waxing Phase. We are strengthening and growing. My Spiritual state is in Full Phase. It is hard to explain..Spiritually I feel powerful and energetic, not afraid to step out and make my beliefs public. I feel as if plans for something I am to do are being made known to me, thus opening up all the gifts the goddess has granted me. Perhaps a new life or just a differnt avenue. I use the phases of the moon to coordinate with whatever spell or ritual I am doing. Not sure exactly how to phrase it but when I use the moon in my work it strengthens it. |

I'm going down in all my "lives" except my spritual its quite the opposite. its a full moon, has been for a while now (like my whole life except for a couple yrs) i dont know my body and everything is slowing to a halt. but hopefully itll pick up. maybe im just out of balance only the gods know. |

I'm most definitely in a new moon state of mind. I've been waning for ages (it seems) , but finally some of the stagnancy I've been dithering about in for the past three years is dissipating. Of course, since our perception determines our reality, I created my own sandtrap, but it was hard to see that until the goddess woke up in me! So, I'm feeling alive and creative and expectant again, but still harboring some secrets of my self which must be discovered and dealt with before I can begin to wax. |

I celebrate the Dark of the Moon. I'm Scorpio and my favorite time of year is between Samhain and the Yule. Most Pagans and from what I know, all Wiccans see Samhain as the New Year. Well, more power to you but *I* know there ain't nothin' goin' on till Yule! That's when I celebrate the New Year and can clearly feel the energy change. That still time between? Yup, it's like a great big 2 month Dark Moon. These are the percolating times the times when I'm at my very best: I'm finally left alone to stop twitching and cursing and flinging from one thing to another. Fianlly, it's just me and the Spirits. Although sometimes (like this year) they become a bit too raucous for my intuition to burst outward and tell me what's to come for the New Year and coming months. I grant them their due as they're so helpful most times. Sometimes it's Now when favors are culled. So I'm a Dark Moon Girl. Blessings...shhh |

I am definitely in the Waxing phase of my life. Growing, strengthening, increasing knowledge. As for the emotional aspect, I am either Waxing/Waning - there are ups and downs in my life where I feel like a waning moon with diminishing energy. Oddly enough, I do get significant dreams when the moon is waxing, especially it's almost full. And I do celebrate the Full Moon as well, either by solitary ritual or group meet. The best rituals I have experienced are under a Full Moon where the energy soars and I dance under Her glow to celebrate. Not to mention howling. ;) Cheers, Wolf's Voice |

I think that right now I am between the Waning and new moon. I am trying to banish some negativity, and release some old freindships and betrayals. I also am being very secretive and trying to discover the mysteries of my life :) |

After reading all of the above, which moon phase means what. I had a very hard time trying to figure out which one best suits me. After thinking a wee bit, The Waxing Moon would be my base. Through daily life and things I have lived through I go stronger. However, I hold many qualities of my life in the other phases. There are days in the month were I am very energetic and want to be out in public, than there are days where I would rather shut the door, pull the blinds and be alone. And of course those days where my kids think I am out of my loony mind, but they still love me because their friends tell them they wish they had a cool Mom like me . Of course most of these moods follow with the actual Moon Phases, which I am sure many people's moods do. Yes, I do incorporate the moon phases in any spell work I do. The intention of the spell, I wait till the moon phase is good for that spellcrafting. |
