Question of the Week: 59 - 9/11/2001 911 America: Talking Through The Terror... Talking Through The Terror... And helping each other cope with the tragedies that struck at the very heart of the United States. The Witches Voice has opened up this forum in order that Pagans may express their thoughts on the terrorist attacks that took place in NYC and DC on September 11th. As the full realization of what happened and the toll numbers begin to come in, Americans have many challenges ahead. What are your thoughts on these incidents? How are you feeling? Feel free to post any magickal workings or other support gatherings planned in your area. As I know we all are, I'm deeply shocked and saddened by this morning's attacks. I know there isn't much we can do on a physical level (although the American Red Cross will still be needing donations next week), but any healing and protection energy that we can put out, either as individuals or in a group, may help to heal some of the strife..I encourage everyone to gather with friends and family and do what we can to help. May the Gods keep watch over the victims and our country. |

This is a horrible example of Man's inhumanity to man, when will it all end? My thoughts and prayers to those who survived and died in those attacks.I hope all Pagan and Wiccan groups will join us all in sending out positive energies to help combat the evil. |

They are cancelling my evening classes. When I got out of my class this morning, someone outside was talking about the WTC, and I thought that he had been joking with his friend. Then I came in, and they had every TV in our school set to the news, they even had pulled out extras because we were all stopping in the halls and silently watching it. I can't believe the entire thing; it seems so surreal. I have friends in DC, and I'm just hoping they are ok. To everyone who was near this horrid event, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I'm going to the blood bank tommorow to donate. |

My heart goes out to the victims and families thereof, who have suffered from this horrible tragedy. This is a time in which we must rely on our Gods for strength, as we need it desperately. As of now, this is psychological warfare. Yes, there has been a giant loss of human life, and even more of a loss of humanity. The worst part of this situation is that Americans do not know where the attacks are coming from, and that is terrifying in itself. If we cannot isolate the origin of attack, we cannot effectively defend ourselves as a country. I'm aware people are of various religious beliefs. That doesn't matter right now. Anyone who can, please, pray, light a candle, whatever you can do. God willing, we will get out of this with the least amount of casualities, fatalities, and damages possible. I, myself, make an oath to keep a candle burning at all times, to acknowledge not only the lost victims, but their families, and the possible losses that could occur. I pray that these events do not proceed to harm others. I pray that these events do not proceed. Please, I urge you to join together in prayer and ritual to give these people the respect they deserve for their loss of life, and with the hopes to prevent further attacks. Find strength in God's arms. |

I absolutely pitty the idiots!!Who pulled this horrified stunt and made a huge world adjustment and whats to come in this healing recovery on this plane. In spell wise I cant do much cause my family doesnt know that I am a beginner in the witchcraft and believe me if I could help magickally I would with out a dought. But I will check with in what I can do in helping physically.. At least that I can do.. |

Watching the events on TV one can almost become numb. Almost. Although I live in Texas and have no friends or family in the areas attacked my heart hurts. As an Emt my thoughts are with the rescue workers and the impossoble job they are facing. Iam praying to the Lord and the Lady on behalf of the victims , the rescue workers, nurses and doctors. And hardest of all I am praying for the souls of those who did this horrific deed. |

I am, of course, saddened to see the wasted lives based on a group of people who cannot grow up and deal with problems/issues in an intelligent manner. But I am angry, and bloodthirsty too. and I must calmly assess my emotions and thoughts. I cannot say this is not in the world's best interest. Sometimes it takes this hideous mass destruction to stop the world and remind the people of what's important. We are all subject to the energy of small minds, look at what Hitler accomplished. Every day we are nickel and dimed with a mugging here, child brutality there but it's so hard to get people to care unless it affects them directly. One person cannot hold back the tide but a multitude can. The appalling tragedy that happened today is the opportunity for us as witches to direct the energy, to transform the power that has been generated to useful means but only as long as we 'stay on target' and remember what's at stake and what good can come of this and what we want accomplished. Please think about this as 9 pm eastern time comes for the vigil |

We need to not bow to the hand of the terrorists. These actions were meant to cause chaos, terror and confusion, and was meant to bring the US to our knees. We should not, and shall not bow to the hand of cowards. We need to stand with our heads high, and be strong, for our brothers and sisters who have been attacked in Washington and New York City. We need to do what we can: donate blood, give to relief funds, and keep calm. We need to pay attention to details, listen and think. Now is the time to keep our wits firmly about us, our feet on the ground, and our minds to survival. We need to understand that what we are being told may not be the entire story, but we have to understand that the reasons for this are for national security. The first rule of military intelligence is not release any information to the general public which may be of use to your enemy. And since a number of the perpetrators of this act are likely to still be on US soil, this directive is even more important. Do not suspect conspiracies, if later, more information is released, which may be of a surprising nature. Such are the ways of war, and unfortunately, this may become war within the next forty-eight hours. We need to remember the principles of our country. We need to remember that we stand by religious freedom, not only for Pagans, not only for Christians, or Jews, but also Muslims. Not every Muslim is an extremist. Not every person of Middle Eastern descent in the US is a terrorist, or is sympathetic to the terrorist cause. We need to remember that, when we see people on the streets who may be of Middle Eastern descent. The entirity of a culture, religion or ethnicity, is not guilty for the actions of a radical minority. We need to neither perpetuate hateful acts against these people, nor tolerate it from others. If we take the hatred expressed in this attack, and pass it on to other innocents, we have descended to the level of the cowardly wretches who murdered thousands today. We need not stoop to that level. We are better than that, as a people, as a nation and as a religion. Let us work in whatever way we can, or must, to put our country back together and refuse to have our principles of freedom and equality trammled by those who would use cowardly means to horrify us. Walk with the Gods. |
